The 2024 International Symposium on Display Holography returns to the campus where the first six were held at Lake Forest College . The goal is to personally connect holographers who had been to the earlier symposia with new friends from the social media age for an exchange to learn and grow the medium. The 2024 International Symposium on Display Holography returns to the campus where the first six were held at Lake Forest College . The goal is to personally connect holographers who had been to the earlier symposia with new friends from the social media age for an exchange to learn and grow the medium. Another reason to attend is to be able to view what does not readily translate to a screen; holographically reconstructed wavefronts. There are over 75 holograms on permanent display in the Tung Jeong Memorial Holography Gallery and there will be hundreds more during the event thanks to those brought in by the participants, such as works by Rudie Berkhout, Dan Schweitzer, and even one from the lab of Leith and Upatnieks.
There will be an Art Marketplace - Collector's Corner for participants to display their holo-wares, like art pieces, boutique trinkets, collectible or usable lasers and other hologram-making equipment, either for show or for sale.

There is no Conference Chairman able to replace the beloved Dr. Tung H. Jeong, so there is none. Nor are there any Committee Chairs, as there are no Committees to determine acceptance of presentations or art works. Anyone who pays the conference fee is free to speak and/or show their work. The order of the speakers is determined by their order of registration.
The conference will be held in the Lillard Science Center on campus, with an auditorium for presentations plus an exhibition hall adjacent to it for the display of holograms.
Eight meals in the College's Dining Hall plus Open Bar at the Social Hours are included as part of the conference fee.
Accommodations: Unfortunately, many of the LFC dorms are off-line this summer for upgrades. Check out the College's web site for alternatives with special rates under area-accommodations. And their dining hall under student resources-dining.
The conference fee is $750 for early registration, $850 after June 3rd.

Every attendee is allotted a 15 minute time slot to make a presentation on the topic of their choice, the most obvious one being themselves.
There will be no printed proceedings for this conference. There are 369 reasons not to do so, proceedings left over from the 1982, 1985, 1988 Symposia at LFC, and from 2009 in China. All attendees of

There will be no printed proceedings for this conference. There are 369 reasons not to do so, proceedings left over from the 1982, 1985, 1988 Symposia at LFC, and from 2009 in China. All attendees of ISDH 2024 will get a complete set of them, along with the accompanying exhibition catalogs, as part of their conference swag and to further the culture of holography.
In this tree-conserving 21st century, all the presentations and demonstrations will be recorded and uploaded with the consent of the speaker to the ISDH 2024 site. Additional material like an academic paper, CV, resume, link to web site, etc., would also be archived in the ISDH cloud. Attendees may visit it freely, while a pay per download fee of $5 per presentation, split between presenter and web server, was deemed as a reasonable fee for disseminating the information to those who did not attend and rewarding the hard work of the presenters for sharing their information, a first in the history of these conferences.
Since there is no press deadline, papers will be accepted at the conference. Abstracts, or at least the title of the presentation or demonstration, are encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible after one registers so that it can be added to the public schedule.
